Toshiba unveils low power supply photocouplers for high-speed communications
KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has released the industry’s first photocouplers for high-speed communications, operating with as low as 2.2V power supply.
According to Toshiba in a statement, the two devices are ‘TLP2312’ and ‘TLP2372’.
With shipment beginning today, TLP2312 delivers a typical data transfer rate of 5Mbps and TLP2372, at 20Mbps.
The products are designed to operate at low voltage, starting at 2.2V, so as to work with the lower voltages of the peripheral circuits, even when used in such low level voltage circuits as 2.5V LVCMOS.
This approach eliminates the need for a separate power supply to drive the photocouplers, reducing the component count.
With a low threshold input current of 1.6mA (max), and low supply current of 0.5mA (max) in their -40℃ and +125℃ operating temperature range, the new photocouplers can be directly driven by microcontrollers, reducing power consumption.
The devices can be used in high-speed digital interfaces including programmable logic controllers, general purpose inverters, measuring equipment and control equipment.

ASSURANCE OF SAFETY FOR YOUR REOPENING: HYTERA UNVEILS COVID-19 PANDEMIC PREVENTION SOLUTION FOR SMALLER ORGANIZATIONS
SHENZHEN, China, June 5 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hytera has launched a simple, but highly effective pandemic prevention solution for small to medium-sized organizations such as schools, enterprises, retail stores, and shopping malls. The Hytera body temperature measurement solution provides a non-contact way of detecting people's temperature for reducing the risks of infection, helping create a more secure and safe environment when people resume work.
This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200604005429/en/
With countries gradually coming out of lockdown, it is vitally important to detect whether any employee or visitor has an abnormal temperature when they go back to work, to school, or to visit shops. It is critical that this is done effectively and efficiently when people enter a building. Meanwhile, employees overseeing the temperature measurements must also be protected.
Manual temperature screenings using thermometers and infrared detection guns are slow, inefficient and unsafe, as they increase the risk of cross-infection. Manual recording of personal information of who is entering a building is time-consuming and inefficient.
The Hytera body temperature measurement solution provides smaller organizations with a facial recognition and remote temperature checking solution that is easy to set up and operate. It ensures safe operations both during the pandemic and in the subsequent recovery period after lockdowns are relaxed.
The Hytera body temperature measurement device can be quickly mounted on a tripod and set up at the entrance, reception areas, offices or anywhere that is suitable in the building. With facial recognition technology, any person can be checked against a database. At the same time, the detection device remotely, automatically and accurately measures the person’s temperature, including those wearing masks.

TOSHIBA ADDS AUTOMOTIVE DISPLAY INTERFACE BRIDGE ICS FOR IN-VEHICLE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS
Toshiba: a new interface bridge IC “TC9594XBG” for automotive In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. (Photo: Business Wire)
TOKYO, June 2 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has added “TC9594XBG” and “TC9595XBG,” new interface bridge ICs for automotive In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems, to its lineup of display interface bridge ICs. Sample shipments start this month.
This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200601005322/en/
Automotive IVI systems are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and as the number of displays they incorporate grows, so too do panel choices, moving beyond the widely used LVDS display. However, this can present a problem for current systems that do not support the interfaces of new display panels, including DSISM and eDP. The solution is found in interface bridge ICs.
Toshiba brings a wealth of experience to this market segment, gained from developing ICs supporting MIPI® interface for consumer applications. It has now added the following functions to its lineup for automotive applications, a move that solves interface difference problems in automotive systems and supports customers working on system designs.
TC9594XBG: Parallel to MIPI DSI
TC9595XBG: MIPI DSI /DPISM to DisplayPort™

Hytera enhances development of Push-to-Talk over Cellular industry
KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 -- The Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radio market has expanded rapidly in the last few years, offering instant PTT communications based on public cellular broadband networks, rather than private narrowband Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
As a leader in the PoC industry, Hytera has focused intensely on PoC research and development and is committed to driving the industry towards improved technologies, higher quality products and enhanced professionalism.
Hytera offers end-to-end PoC communication solutions, including high-quality PoC radios and innovative PoC platforms which provide customers with instant and reliable global communications experience to enhance business operations and boost productivity.
In order to protect existing narrowband professional mobile radio (PMR) investments, Hytera has launched a narrowband and broadband convergence solution to interconnect users of PMR and PoC networks, whereby people can be contacted anywhere, anytime using either technology.
Hytera also provides a suite of solutions to ensure the security of user transmissions when communicating. These security features are not restricted by the type of network standard or method of communication being used in covered areas.
The company has gained a competitive edge in recent years by continuously investing resources in the development of both private and public network technologies. By developing this formidable strength in different communications technologies, Hytera believes it is better able to meet the current and future demands of its customers.

Efinix® unveils three RISC-V® SoCs availability
KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 -- Efinix®, an innovator in programmable product platforms and technology has announced the availability of a series of three software defined, SoCs based on the popular RISC-V® core.
According to a statement, the three designs have been optimised for Efinix’s Trion® family of FPGAs and provide a range of compute and I/O capabilities in devices from the T8 to the T120.
“Based on Charles Papon’s powerful and efficient VexRiscv design, our Trion® family of SoCs delivers pre-optimised RISC-V cores across the entire Trion FPGA product line from the cost optimised T8 right up to the T120,” said Efinix senior director of marketing, Mark Oliver.
The SoCs are preconfigured with a RISC-V core, memory, a range of I/O and have interfaces for embedding user functions, whereby designers can easily create entire systems that include embedded compute and user defined accelerators within the same FPGA.
“Optimising the core into pre-defined configurations on the Trion family of FPGAs will give a much larger number of designers a turnkey and cost-effective way to access the power of the core in a broad variety of system designs,” said VexRiscv designer, Charles Papon.
Efinix RISC-V SoCs come with a complete set of tools for compiling and debugging application code on the RISC-V core along with example applications and tutorials.
