Apart from being an award recipient, Finterra’s Founder, Hamid Rashid also delivered the first keynote address entitled “Social Solutions for the Blockchain” where he capitulated on the importance for leaders and corporates to embrace change and adapt to the disruptions currently sweeping the world. His keynote focused on how blockchain and Waqf (endowment) complement one another while also supporting UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).
While addressing the crowd comprising of award recipients, industry captains and dignitaries, he said, “Blockchain is the financial challenge of our time. It is going to change the way our entire world operates”. He further added that “to become a true leader, one would need to innovate and adapt to disruptions or seriously risk becoming obsolete”. Finterra continues to advocate for the utilisation of blockchain technology not only to develop Waqf but all other sectors.
