Cloudflare raises US$150 mln fund, adds new board members

KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- Cloudflare, the leading Internet performance and security company has raised US$150 million (US$1 = RM4.09) in the latest round of funding, led by Franklin Templeton.

To date, Cloudflare has raised more than US$330 million from investors whereby, Franklin Templeton leads the latest round in funding to support Cloudflare’s growth, extend product ranges and continue its international expansion into new markets.


The company has also added former Silicon Graphics chief financial officer, Stan Meresman and Nike Foundation founder and co-chair, Maria Eitel to its board of directors, according to a statement.

“Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our board and know what it takes to propel companies forward. Our entire board looks forward to working with them as we continue to help build a better Internet,” said Cloudflare co-founder and chief executive officer, Matthew Prince.

Eitel joined Nike in 1998 as its first vice-president of corporate responsibility and ran European corporate affairs for Microsoft, while Meresman is a board member and chair of the Audit Committee of Guardant Health and formerly served at LinkedIn, Palo Alto Networks and Zynga, among others.
