KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- Local wireless industry, businesses and citizens in Indonesia to benefit with the SIMO vSIM app (revolutionary mobile app) providing instant access to affordable mobile data without physical SIM cards.
The app launched by Skyroam -- a global mobile data technology and service company -- has been examined and recognised by Minister of Communication and Information of Indonesia, Rudiantara.
For the Indonesian launch, Skyroam partnered with Wiko to pre-install the app onto new Tommy 3 smartphones. The launch expected to be on 200MM phones by 2020 will support large scale internet expansion to millions of Indonesians, a statement said.
“The Ministry of Communication and Information concluded that SIMO’s technology and business model comply with existing regulations and legislation. We are pleased to have SIMO launch first in Indonesia,” said Rudiantara.
He said that Indonesia must adapt quickly to keep pace with growth. He has assessed that SIMO by vSIM and the Skyroam network, could accelerate government programs, especially those supporting accessibility and penetration of mobile internet.
The app helps mobile network operators (MNOs) and mobile virtual networks operators (MVNOs) expand their footprint by significantly reducing cost and time of customer acquisition. It also benefits content providers to reach new audiences through SIMO’s democratisation of data.
Skyroam developed and patented its virtual SIM (vSIM) technology which delivers on-demand local wireless data worldwide. More details on www.skyroam.com.
