LayerStack performs infrastructure and network upgrade for expansion in Asia Pacific Japan

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- LayerStack -- an innovative cloud solution provider -- has performed infrastructure and network upgrade of all the cloud servers hosting and network equipment at the Tier3+ rated Equinix data center in Singapore for expansion in Asia Pacific Japan (APJ).

BEIJING EXPLORES FRESH WAYS OF INBOUND TOURISM PARTNERSHIP

BEIJING, China, Nov. 22, 2018 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/--

The number of inbound tourists to Beijing reached 2.27 million from January to July this year, up 2.5 percent year on year. The impressive data underscores Beijing's efforts in recent years to explore new ways of inbound tourism partnership and open up its tourism market by a string of supportive policies.

In line with its leading role to serve international communication, Beijing has introduced an array of policies such as special funds for awarding inbound tourism, funds for MICE, shopping tax rebates on departure for overseas tourists, and 144-hour transit visa exemption, propelling inbound tourism growth. As Beijing is building a world-class harmonious and livable capital in an all-round way, inbound tourism is expected to play a bigger role in deepening reform and opening-up, enhancing international friendship and promoting cultural and economic exchanges.

What's more, Beijing will host the International Horticulture Exhibition in 2019, and the World Leisure Conference in 2020. The Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games will also be held in Beijing in 2022. These international events will bring new opportunities for Beijing's inbound tourism development. Beijing is willing to strengthen cooperation and share opportunities with domestic and overseas partners.

In February, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development (BMCTD) launched the "Global Distribution Partnership Program of Beijing Tourism", China's and even the Asia Pacific region's first strategic cooperation innovation mechanism initiated by the government and participated in by international travel agents. The project has received over 120 applications from international travel agents, while 30 of them are selected to be the partners inking a three-year-long cooperation with the BMCTD to carry out in-depth cooperation over information sharing, marketing, and tourism route development. By hosting the summit and promoting the project, the BMCTD hopes to explore a normalized inbound tourism cooperation mechanism, keep informed of the real-time changes in international tourism consumption orientation, understand the characteristics and preferences of overseas tourists, and invite global partners to participate in the study of feature inbound tourism routes and continue to enhance Beijing's appeal as a global tourism destination.

Based on changes in the inbound tourism market, groups and preferences, Beijing will introduce eight types of feature tourism products to the world, including ancient capital tours, modern capital tours, folklore tours, fashion tours, food tours and research and study tours, Chinese traditional medicine health tours as well as conference and sports tours.

Patton Electronics enhances IPv6 in SmartNode CPE

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) – Patton Electronics Co. – doing business as a bricks-and-mortar manufacturer since 1984 – has enhanced IPv6 in its SmartNode CPE.

By implementing enhanced IPv6 in SmartNode VoIP CPE, Patton supports simplified network architectures and lowers operation and maintenance costs for service providers and enterprises.

The IPv6 standard expands available IP addresses octillion times or at least 17 billion.

According to Patton in a statement, the global expansion of the Internet, proliferation of IP endpoint devices and the burgeoning Internet of Things (IoT) reflects that Pv4 addresses will soon run out.

With IPv4, maintaining network address translation (NAT) tables is complex, time-consuming and costly – whatech.com predicts the IPv6 market will grow at rate (CAGR) of +31 per cent until 2023 and beyond.

Service providers made plans and some partially implemented IPv6 in their networks. Carriers like Telefonica and T-MOBILE and enterprises such as Microsoft have started the changeover.

“One thing is for sure, we are not living in an All-IPv6 world. Still the move to IPv6 is inevitable. And there are good reasons to do it sooner rather than later,” said Executive Vice President at Patton, Burton A. Patton (Burt).

“Getting from IPv4 to All-IPv6 networking presents challenges. We will live in a mixed IPv4/IPv6 world for some years,” Patton added in the statement.

CORRECTING AND REPLACING TACIT KNOWLEDGE, A PITNEY BOWES COMPANY, HELPS FITFLOP TRIPLE ONLINE SALES

Innovative retail platform supports rapidly-growing direct-to-consumer channel for popular global footwear brand

CORRECTION...by Pitney Bowes Inc.

LONDON, Nov 21 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE)--

Please replace the release with the following corrected version due to multiple revisions.

The corrected release reads:

TACIT KNOWLEDGE, A PITNEY BOWES COMPANY, HELPS FITFLOP TRIPLE ONLINE SALES

Innovative retail platform supports rapidly-growing direct-to-consumer channel for popular global footwear brand

Tacit Knowledge, a Pitney Bowes (NYSE:PBI) company and leading provider of end-to-end commerce solutions for global retailers and brands, today announced that its flagship ncommerce solution is powering FitFlop’s new eCommerce website, delivering value in less than 12 weeks. Ncommerce enabled FitFlop to quickly deploy technologies from numerous industry leaders in a single solution that is easy to manage and highly customisable to deliver deeper intuitive brand experiences for customers.

FitFlop has quickly become an iconic brand with a reputation for design innovation. Its footwear offers a unique combination of world-class design and ergonomically engineered comfort, in a distinctively stylish package. Since its launch 10 years ago, FitFlop has soared from cult favorite to global footwear brand. Its direct-to-consumer site is its most rapidly growing sales channel. Ncommerce combines technologies from the industry’s most trusted and innovative providers including SAP Commerce Cloud, CyberSource, Fastly, Google and Amplience. Ncommerce is one stable, modern and scalable platform, from one vendor, with one contract, removing the complexity from high profile web implementation projects.

FitFlop’s eCommerce site was implemented within six-months, in time for peak season. Rather than relying on an out-of-the-box template for the front-end, ncommerce fuses best-in-class technologies using a “Headless Commerce” architecture in a customisable way. Headless Commerce challenges traditional UX models by separating the UI layer from back-end services for an intuitive and highly customised retail experience.

FitFlop was able to build a brand-specific storefront that provides deeper, more engaging customer experiences, while allowing new merchandising features to be conceived and implemented more rapidly. Site maintenance is simplified, freeing FitFlop to focus more on its products and customers rather than perpetually managing technology. Tacit remains an actively involved partner, providing strategic advice and delivering new features on a consistent basis, using Continuous Development.

Denise Fender, Global GM - Digital at FitFlop said, “In the highly competitive retail and digital market, everyone wants the best technologies powering their ecommerce site to deliver the best customer experience and keep customers coming back. The problem lies in that the integrations and upkeep are simply too resource-intensive for most growing retailers – and the technology itself is cost prohibitive. Ncommerce has erased all these challenges while giving us complete control over our brand’s look and feel. We no longer have to worry about managing the platform like an IT shop, but we can still easily and rapidly release new features and functions on the site. As a result, we can focus on customer engagement and consistently delivering a seamless brand experience. We selected Tacit as our strategic partner due to their reputation in the industry for always delivering high quality solutions for brands. Our high expectations were exceeded and our online sales rocketed more than 3X and conversions increased dramatically, particularly on mobile. We are so pleased with the initial results, that we are now focused on putting digital at the forefront of our business operating model. This will enable us to truly supercharge our digital presence across all channels and markets.”

James Bullock, SVP and GM of Tacit Knowledge said, “We’re delighted that FitFlop selected Tacit as their eCommerce technology partner and chose our exciting new SAP Commerce Packaged Solution, ncommerce. We are as thrilled as FitFlop with the results – record online sales and significant conversion rate increases in less than three months. With ncommerce, Tacit has reduced the risk and complexity of eCommerce re-platforming so that retailers can focus on the art of retail and how to better serve their customers.”
