CyrusOne´s third Frankfurt data centre begins breaking ground

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) -- CyrusOne Inc, a leading global real estate investment trust has broken ground on the first phase of its newest data centre location in Frankfurt, Germany.
The new data centre will offer cloud providers, systems integrators and multinational corporations customised, secure and resilient data centre solutions within a key business hub.
“This will mark our third expansion facility in Frankfurt and I expect it will effectively be pre-leased by the time we complete construction next year,” said CyrusOne president (Europe), Tesh Durvasula.
Upon completion, expected in Q2 2020, the site will comprise two adjoining, four-story buildings delivering 22 MW of IT power to 11,500 sq. m of world-class technical space.
The indirect adiabatic air cooling in each data hall will ensure an extremely low Power Usage Efficiency, according to a statement.
The rapid construction timeline for the Frankfurt III data centre is made possible by CyrusOne’s extensive experience building more than 45 data centres worldwide. It uses a modular construction method and will work closely with valued partners.

New CEO onboard Australia´s largest health brand Blackmores

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Alastair Symington is Blackmores Limited’s new chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director, effective Oct 1, as announced by chairman, Brent Wallace.

According to a statement by Australia's largest natural health company, Symington is a global business leader and brand builder who brings over 23 years of consumer goods experience in beauty, health and grooming.

Currently based in Dubai, he is a senior vice-president of Consumer Beauty leading the ALMEA region (including Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Australia) for Coty – a large manufacturer and retailer of consumer products.

Wallace said: “Alastair has an extensive sales and marketing background in the fast moving consumer goods category and importantly, he has significant in-country Asia and China experience including cross-border e-commerce and retail.

“His deep understanding of China and proven track record in product innovation would enable the company to continue growing.”

Meanwhile, Symington said: “I am committed to delivering on the company's strategy to drive substantial top-line growth via a greater presence of Blackmores throughout the region, and ensuring that we are more efficient as a business, delivering superior results for shareholders.”

The newly-appointed CEO has a Bachelor of Economics and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (Asian Studies) from the Monash University.

TAKEDA COMPLETES SALE OF XIIDRA® TO NOVARTIS

OSAKA, Japan, July 2 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (TSE:4502/NYSE:TAK) (“Takeda”) today announced the completion of its sale of its Xiidra® (lifitegrast ophthalmic solution) 5% product to Novartis for $3.4 billion upfront in cash and up to an additional $1.9 billion in potential milestone payments.

Takeda intends to use the proceeds from the sale to reduce its debt and accelerate deleveraging toward its target of 2x net debt/adjusted EBITDA in the medium term following closing of the Shire acquisition. As of March 31, 2019, Takeda has 5,048.9 billion yen in net debt outstanding and its net debt/adjusted EBITDA ratio is 4.7x. Takeda continues to target a net debt/adjusted EBITDA ratio of 2x within 3 to 5 years.
 
Xiidra® is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for both signs and symptoms of dry eye disease, with a mechanism of action that targets inflammation.

NTT COM DEVELOPS THE LARGEST DATA CENTER IN INDONESIA

New Campus, with up to 45MW IT load, will be in Indonesia at the end of 2020

TOKYO, June 28 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT Group (TOKYO: 9432), announced today it would develop a new data center campus at Bekasi, Indonesia. The new campus will be known as “Indonesia Jakarta 3 Data Center” (JKT3) and is capable of up to 18,000 sqm (7,800 racks) IT space and 45MW IT load once fully developed. In Indonesia, demand has been booming, triggered by the use of Data centers by financial institutions based on the Indonesian government order (*1). In addition, there is a strong demand from OTTs (*2) which targeting the largest population in Southeast Asia (the fourth largest in the world). Thanks to these market trends, the annual growth rate of the data center market is above 21%.

This four-story data center campus will be in a large industrial area located 30km east of central Jakarta. World leaders wrestle global issues in Japan's G20 Summit

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- Japan recently hosted the G20 Summit in Osaka, the country’s second largest city, attended by 20 member parties and 17 invited guests to discuss important topics on the global agenda.
One of the prominent issues was marine plastic litter, a problem recognised as affecting the marine ecosystem on a global scale.
To demonstrate a commitment to this issue, the G20 Osaka Summit promoted the Ministry of Environment’s Plastics Smart Campaign, along with the concept of the ‘3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and Renewable’ with actions such as using no plastic bottles and straws and introducing renewable materials on site.
Throughout the summit period, no single-use plastic products, including bottles, cups, straws and dishes were available. Attendees were provided with alternative, reusable products and services.
Other items on the summit agenda included economy, trade and investment, innovation, employment, women’s empowerment, development, and health, all of which were a focus for productive discussions.
