KUALA LUMPUR, March 4
(Bernama) -- The government's security infrastructure for procurement system,
ePerolehan, has maintained its ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Security
Management System (ISMS) certification.
The ISMS, effective for three years, from Nov
27, 2015 until Nov 26, 2018, is a systematic and structured policy that ensures
the security of data and information related to procurement.
In a statement today, Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd
(CDC) said the implementation of the system involved the policies, processes,
procedures, organisational structure and functions of the hardware and software.
CDC is the company
responsible to maintain the ePerolehan system since 2000.
The presentation ceremony of the
ISO/IEC27001:2013 ePerolehan System was held on Feb 5, 2016 at the Ministry of
Finance, Putrajaya.
It said this certification showed that the
ePerolehan System has successfully maintained the quality of its security after
it received its first ISMS certification for in 2012 for the MS ISO/IEC
27001:2007.
"The accreditation of this certification
coincides with the comprehensive initiatives and strong commitments to improve
the operations of the ePerolehan Systems' security preparedness, which is
classified under the Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNNI),"
it said.
To date, the system had been used by 2,648
government's responsibility centres and 113,900 suppliers registered with the
Ministry of Finance.
The government, through the National Cyber
Crisis Management Plan (NCCMP), which was developed by the National Security
Council in February 2010, had instructed all systems classified under CNII to
obtain the ISMS certification within three years.
