Malaysia Craft Promotion In Pahang Set To Record Sales Of RM600,000

KUANTAN, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- The ongoing Malaysia Craft promotion at the East Coast Mall here is expected to record sales of RM600,000, according to State Tourism and Culture Committee chairman, Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin.

He said the target was achievable based on its success in recording sales of RM528,000 during the same promotion last year.

Mohd Sharkar said participants of the eighth edition of the programme comprised 31 entrepreneurs, 10 of whom were from Pahang.

"Most of the products on sale were forest-based, clay-based and textile, including wooden furniture, Royal Pahang woven fabric, songket and women's accessories," he told a press conference here today.

He said the Malaysia Craft promotion was part of the efforts undertaken by the Pahang branch of Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (Kraftangan Malaysia) to promote Visit Pahang Year 2017.
